The Savvy Reader thesavvyreader.ca

This year a group of us at HarperCollins Canada are challenging ourselves.

The Challenge: Read 50 Books in a Year.

Think we can do it?

That’s roughly 1 book a week, with 2 weeks to spare.

Taking the pledge are:

Charidy @charidy

Colleen

Cory @corybeatty

Emma @em_ingram

Jason @albatross15

Jessica @jofftheshelf

Laura @LauraChrystine

Liza @lizamo67

Meghan @meghanpaton

Shannon @shanparsons

You can follow along with us on twitter, we’ll be tweeting about what we’re reading with the hashtag #50BookPledge, and every month on here The Savvy Reader we’ll talk about how close we are to our goal, the best books we’ve been reading, whether it’s been easy/hard…

Now you may be thinking, 50 books pssshhh that’s easy… So join us! Let us know you’re up for the challenge. We’ll be rewarding those who keep up (somehow). Any ideas?

365 days, 50 books, 10 HCC staff members. The 50 Book Pledge. Are you in?

  • http://www.bellasbookshelves.com Steph

I wish I could do it. I want to. Lord, do I! But the reality is I have two jobs, one of them full time, and reading a book a week is nigh on impossible. I’ve been trying to read more than one at a time but that’s just not working. :(

Can’t wait to hear what y’all think of them, though!

  • Ellen

any 50 books? Or are we all reading the same ones?

  • Geri

    @GingerGeri

I’m in. I spent my “cleanup” day yesterday making an entire 3 shelf bookcase of books I have bought but not yet read.

Love the idea of this challenge!

Reading 50 books in a year would definitely be a challenge for me. I wish I could say yes, but the reality is that I probably won’t get there. I applaud those who are able to, though.

  • Renita Sharma

I’m in! This is my first year out of school/in full-time work – hopefully this will keep me from letting my reading slide because of that!
