Ok, we’re through Week 2 on the Tommy Europe 10-Pound Shred program and still going strong (and getting stronger!).
Let’s check in with our four Tommy Europe teams to see how they are making out…
Team Shake Weight
Week 2 was always going to be tough for us. Why? The second week is where concentration and focus would keep us on track, slipping was not an option. Well, that and it was Easter weekend. I mean who can turn down a mini-egg, let’s be honest. But, we held strong and made it through a tough, delicious food filled weekend with flying colours. We are still hurting physically a little bit after the daily exercises, but there is no quit in Team Shake Weight. We came to play.
Bonus! See what Team Shake Weight has learned so far in the Tommy Europe Challenge.
Team Not Shredding
Meghan: I didn’t quite make my goal of working out four days this week because I gave myself the long weekend off. But I did manage to add something new and fun (and humiliating) to my routine: body jam. A lunchtime dance class with my colleagues proved to be a surefire way to shake things up and make sure working out is also really fun. And funny. We’ll be at it again this week (with some new brave faces, I’m told), and I’m determined to master the jazz section. I’m not sure what Tommy would think about body jam, but wouldn’t it be amazing to see him dance the Charleston?
Justin: I’ve discovered a variety of muscles I didn’t think I had! They are sore, but overall, I feel pretty good.
Team Charidy
We are shredding the 10 Pound Shred!!!! No seriously, Team Charidy has really taken to this whole exercise thing. As we mentioned in our intro paragraph, we were already a pretty active team, so we’ve been trying to incorporate Tommy’s routine into our own – add burpees to Spin classes is just a start. We’ve also really enjoyed working out together: Melissa, Shannon and I look forward to an aerobic dance class at the gym tomorrow, no pictures, sorry – but let’s just say that we can really ROCK the Charleston. Rosalyn is an inspiration to the whole group – she’s been really sticking to Tommy’s routine and is totally showing off the results! We look forward to our next few weeks!
Team Unicorns
Michael @Mguyha – I’ve had a good week with my workouts. My fails are on the food side, as some events have pushed me from my plan. Easter likely won’t help, so I’m looking to Week 3 for a rebound.
Kate @KateCassaday – This week has been all about hardcore interval training and following Tommy’s advice about eating sensible portions of whole, unrefined foods. My jeans are feeling less tight, but my heart aches for want of a brownie…
Laura @LauraChrystine – Work outs – check. Good eats – check. I’m on track and definitely feeling the burn. I have soreness in muscles I didn’t know existed. There are a few exercises I’m not sure I’ll ever master (Spiderman pushups come to mind) and I’ve proven that skipping is not like riding a bike – you most certainly can forget how to do it. Week three, here I come!
Jessica @JOfftheshelf – Week two I’ve failed a bit. And by bit I mean a lot—I only did a few of the workouts. Birthday parties, outings and bad days got in the way. But I’m getting back on track. And I mean that! But I’m not skipping ahead to the day that I actually should be on, so if I need to extend my time I will—I have a goal gosh darnit and my bad attitude has set me back. No more! On the plus side, I am wearing jeans I haven’t worn in ages. So not all is lost—rather, a few pounds are!
Now, here’s a little advice from Tommy Europe:
Tommy Rule #14: The only thing you can change is what you’re about to do, so make the choice that best aligns with your goal.
