Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! Yesterday, we celebrated our fave fictional friendships, but today we’re here to gush about our favourite YA couples! It was hard to narrow the list, but here we go!:
1. Tris and Tobias, Divergent
We’re gonna let this clip speak for itself.
2. Alex and Lena, Delirium
In a world that views love as a disease and seeks to rid everyone from its disastrous effects, Lena can’t help falling in love with Alex. What starts out as forbidden love turns into the fight of a lifetime. Alex and Lena’s relationship is true inspiration for all you readers who crave a good “forbidden love” story.
3. Sahar and Nasrin, If You Could Be Mine
Sahar and Nasrin have been in love with each other since they were six, but in a society that would beat and imprison them if their relationship ever came to light, they must either keep their love a secret — until Sahar discovers what she believes is a perfect solution.
4. Nix and Ignifex, Cruel Beauty
Destined to marry a monster (and trained to kill him), heroine Nyx finds herself in quite the predicament when she falls for the very man she’s meant to destroy. Things get even more complicated when she sorta falls for his shadow too. Awkward.
5. Juliette and Warner, but also Adam, Shatter Me
Aaron Warner: Son of the leader of the Reestablishment, deeply damaged and inhumanly handsome, madly in love with Juliette.
Adam Kent: Loyal, trustworthy, safe, madly in love with Juliette.
Juliette Ferrars: 17, born with a lethal touch, torn between two very different guys.
It doesn’t get more complicated than that.
6. Sawyer and Reena, How to Love
The story of one couple falling in love—twice. But falling in love twice means falling out of love as well. It’s this mixture of heartbreak and hope that pulls you into Katie Cotugno’s story as she weaves together past and present to show how these two love stories meet.
7. Wren and Grayson, The Promise of Amazing
When Wren saves Grayson from choking, they form an instant bond leading them down a sometimes awkward, sometimes difficult path of love and self-discovery. This book is adorable and makes us really, really happy.
8. Aria and Perry, Under the Never Sky
Aria and Perry, two teens from radically different societies, hate being dependent on one another until they finally overcome their prejudices and fall in love — knowing they can’t stay together.
