The #50BookPledge is back!

In 2015, the #50BookPledge community read 130,000 books. This year, we’re challenging you to read 150,000!

Sign up for the 50 Book Pledge at and pledge to read anywhere from 12 and 200 books. Your books will count towards the community goal of 150,000. Plus, we’ll help you reach your personal goal with fun incentives like badges, contests and giveaways!

Returning to the 50 Book Pledge? New features in 2016 include finding your friends and following their Pledge. You’ll see which books they add to their shelves on your News Feed and can “Like” and Comment on their activity.

Like in previous years, we’ll continue to offer weekly reading recommendations with our 50 Book Pledge Featured Reads. Already read our recommendation? Don’t worry: we’ll offer 4 to 6 alternatives for each Featured Read.

    1. Hi Meghan! There is, just so long as you’ve signed up the same that you signed up in 2015 (via the same twitter account, Facebook account, or email address). Once you are signed in, click on ‘My Shelves’ in the top right corner of the site. It will take you to your 2016 shelf. To the right, underneath ‘Currently Reading’ you’ll see the word ‘Shelves’ and a drop down menu with a list of years. 2015 should be there. Click on it and you’ll be able to see last year’s shelf! Unfortunately, you won’t be able to add any books to it, but your past reads will still be there. Let us know if you have issues accessing it.
