Hi again, Savvy Readers! Yesterday was the first day of fall and we have officially started our fall reading. Of course, we’ve also been keeping track of all the essential bookish news of the week, so let’s go ahead and jump in!

1. Hidden Figures Movie Tie-In Cover Revealed 


You may remember Margot Lee Shetterly‘s Hidden Figures from our Fall Nonfiction Preview, and now we have more fantastic news! The cover of the movie tie-in edition of Hidden Figures has been revealed and it is seriously bada**. See the full cover here. The hardcover edition is available now and the movie tie-in edition will be available later this year!

2. A Red Queen Coloring Book is on its Way


This is not a drill, YA fans! The team at Epic Reads shared some very exciting news this week: there’s a Red Queen Coloring Book coming out this December! Find out more information about the colouring book here and learn more about the Red Queen series here.

3. This New Toronto Bar is Lit(erature-Themed)

New book club venue, anyone? BlogTO reported this week that a book-themed bar is opening soon in the Junction! Called Famous Last Words, the bar will surely become a new hangout spot for Toronto bookworms. Read more about this exciting new bar here! (Just think of all the cute #bookstagram opportunities…)

4. This Week in Awards News…

The Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize turns 20 this year! Appropriately, the Writers’ Trust Team unveiled their shortlist with a delicious cake and confetti. A special congratulations to Kerry Lee Powell, who is shortlisted for her short story collection Willem De Kooning’s Paintbrush! Click here to see the full shortlist. 5. Meet Canada ABC Author and Illustrator Paul Covello This Weekend in Toronto!


Oh Canada! Canada celebrates its 150th birthday next year and the beautiful Canada ABC board book is the perfect addition to any young Canadian’s home library. Meet its author and illustrator Paul Covello this Saturday at the Art Gallery of Ontario shopAGO at 1pm! There will be books, buttons, and adorable colouring sheets. It’s going to be a lot of fun!
