The internet (myself included) is LOVING the beautiful stills Entertainment Weekly released of our favourite bookish heroine Belle from Beauty and the Beast (played by real-life bookworm Emma Watson)! The photos are so gorgeous and this illustrated edition of Beauty and the Beast is firmly rooted on my wish list.

2. Watch Now: Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf in A Series of Unfortunate Events

In other childhood favourites news, Netflix shared a teaser trailer yesterday starring Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf in their adaptation of Lemony Snicket‘s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Check out the trailer here. What do you think, Savvy Readers? Will you be tuning in?

Now here’s something that would make me want to work out: Elle UK reported that a Harry Potter-themed yoga class exists! Last week, some wand-erful yogis got together to practice — with the help of props and even a readingfrom Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows. Click here to read Elle UK’s recap. (Sign me up!)

4. United Arab Emirates Introduces Dedicated Reading Time at Work

(Image via: The Guardian)

Now here’s an initiative I can get behind! The Guardian reported this week that the UAE has launched a new law to encourage citizens to pick up reading everyday. The “National Law of Reading” includes giving government staff dedicated time to read at work and handing out book bags (or a “knowledge briefcase”) to children when they’re born. Maybe these new laws will encourage more readers to join our 50 Book Pledge! Read more about the new law here.
