1. Beyoncé is releasing a book!

Have you heard the news?! Queen B is releasing a coffee table book, titled How to Make Lemonade. The This whopping 600-page book will be a comprehensive look at the making of her 2016 album “Lemonade”.  The book will be part of a limited-edition box set that includes a double vinyl LPs, and audio and visual album downloads.  2. Newfoundland cuts its book tax

The Newfoundland and Labrador government has announced that it will be lifting its ten percent book tax as part of a review of the province’s tax system. This controversial tax was implemented this year, and is the first of its kind for any province in Canada. The tax will be lifted next year after approvals, meaning that residents of Newfoundland can go buy more books with all that money saved in taxes! Read all about the controversial tax here.

TV News: The Valiant by Lesley Livingston


Exciting news for YA Lovers! Lesley Livingston’s The Valiant is being developed into a TV series for The CW! Like the book, the new series will follow a Celtic princess who is captured and forced into slavery by Julius Caesar. She becomes a gladiator in the Colosseum to compete for her freedom. Celebrate the Cooke Agency’s 25th Anniversary!

The Cooke Agency is celebrating a milestone – 25 years! They are honouring the occasion with an exciting evening with Jeff VanderMeer, Rupi Kaur, and John Irving! The event will be held at the Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto, and is open to the public. You can find more information and purchase tickets here.
