Top 10 Places to Read When You’re On the GO

A true reader always carries a book with them. Check our list of 10 places to read while you’re on the go!

The train is an excellent place to read! I find I get most of my reading done while I commute to work. I recommend sitting in the quiet area during rush hours to avoid and noisy distractions.

There is no better place to read a book than in a coffee shop. The atmosphere is always great for powering through a book. The best part is you can grab a coffee and a treat of your choice for that burst of energy to finish that book!

Books are perfect in-flight entertainment! Plus, you won’t have to sweat about running out of battery halfway through your trip.

If you’re headed on a road trip, you might want to bring a book (…that is, assuming you aren’t driving, please don’t read and drive!). Also, if you are prone to motion sickness, I would avoid reading in a moving car… But definitely do pull out your book when you’re at the gas station.

Parks can be a very serene place to read a book (technically it counts as getting out of the house, even if you’re not going far….). Whether its just a quick read on a bench, or packing a picnic for a longer day out, the park is the perfect place to be!

The subway can be a tricky place to read, especially if you don’t nab a seat. Another great thing about the subway is that it can be the perfect place to find your next read! I’m always curious to see what others are reading around me when I’m on the subway and I’ve definitely gone out and bought some books that have caught my eye.

What could be more relaxing than a book on the beach?! Tan + finish a book? It’s a win-win. Just make sure you don’t fall asleep with the book ON you, nobody wants a book tan line… Right?

Fountains are great places to read a book (clearly Belle was a fan). The noise of the water can be relaxing, just make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand…..!

This one’s probably the most out-there place on this list…. But seriously, a bar can be a great place to get some reading done (if you pick the right bar, with the right type of atmosphere and the right time of day). Think about how nice it would be to have a glass of wine, or a pint of beer while you devour your current read!

I know this seems like an obvious suggestion, but when was the last time you went to the library to read a book? There are a ton of books to pick off the shelf, plunk down onto one of the armchairs, and get lost in a book. Same can be said for a nearby bookstore!
