Happy (almost) Halloween, Savvy Readers! Are you ready for the spookiest day of the year? You’ve probably already got your costume planned out, but what about Halloween decorations?
Halloween decorating is one of my favourite things to do this season(besides eating candy and reading scary books!).
If you’re looking to do your own holiday decorating, we have some great bookish ideas for you!
Spice up your bookshelf with some spooky bookends! Get spiderwebs here, or make your own skull bookends here!
Make your own Halloween wreath for your front door! You’ll have to sacrifice a few books to make it, but the results are stunning! Get step-by-step instructions here.
Why not round up all your orange books to make a special book pumpkin like this? How cool does this look!?
Or how about a pumpkin made out of book pages? It’s easy to make and looks beautiful! Directions here.
You could even use book pages to paper mache a small pumpkin for a stunning effect, like this.
Swap out your favourite bookmark for something more festive, like this one!
Channel your inner witch or wizard with these homemade spell books! Use old books to make these 3-D spell books. Your bookshelf will be extra spooky in no time!
And if you’re in a pinch for time, why not just stack your books (we know you have plenty!) to showcase some pumpkins?
And there you have it! Which of these bookish Halloween decorations isyour favourite? Are you reading any scary books in preparation for next week? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter @SavvyReader.
