50 Book Pledge Featured Read: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

Where do I even start, Savvy Readers?! Simon is one of our most beloved young adult books EVER. And now it’s a movie!!

The beloved, award-winning novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli was first published in 2015. Now, this precious book about 16 year-old (and not-so-openly gay) Simon Spier, is in theatres!

Here’s the thing about Simon… He prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now, Simon is actually being blackmailed—if he doesn’t play wingman for the class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. What’s worse? Blue’s (the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing with) will be jeopardized, too.

As some messy dynamics emerge in his once tight-knit group of friends and his emails with Blue grow more and more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated…

Change-averse Simon needs to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out. All that without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most *adorable* guy he’s ever met.

You won’t know the mystery of Blue until the end, and it will definitely keep you flipping the pages. But seriously, this love story is EVERYTHING you need in your life. It’s a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story that we just can’t get enough of. You’ll fall in love with Simon (and his friends and family, of course) instantly. He’s just unforgettable.

If this is your first time reading Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, then ENJOY, Savvy Readers! I cannot wait to hear what you think. And then go see the movie!! You’ll love that, too.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is our 50 Book Pledge Featured Read. Add it to your TBR shelf now.

Happy reading!
