It’s FRIDAY!!! It was a busy week in the book world, and I cannot WAIT to share all the exciting things that happened! We’ve got all the juiciest bookish news and stories, just for you!

1. New Tolkien Coming This Summer!


NEW TOLKIEN ALERT!!! We can hardly contain our excitement after hearing that a new story from JRR Tolkien will be published this summer. The Fall of Gondolin brings us back to Middle-earth in a battle between good and evil for the beautiful city of Gondolin. The book will release in August, and you can read more about it here!

2. HBO to develop docuseries based on I’ll Be Gone in the Dark


We’ve already mentioned the astounding true crime novel I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara. It’s a meticulously researched investigation of the identify of the mysterious Golden State Killer. We can’t wait to see this gripping story on the screen! McNamara tragically passed away in her sleep in 2016, but her husband Patton Oswalt will be an executive producer for the new show. 3. Joe Hill’s N0S4A2 Coming to AMC Next Year


We’re thrilled to hear the news this week that horror novel NOS4A2 by award-winning author Joe Hill will be adapted into a TV show! This spine-tingling story follows Victoria McQueen, a woman with the special ability to find missing things, as she is sucked into a life-and-death battle against an evil child-stealing foe.  A 10-episode show will air on AMC sometime next year, and we can’t wait to see it! 4. The Remains of Samuel Taylor Coleridge Found

The remains of the famous poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge has been forgotten, until they were recently uncovered in a wine cellar. Though there has always been a plaque in the church above Coleridge’s resting place, his actual coffin was hidden behind a brick wall in the crypt below. Read more about this crazy discovery now!

5. A Mobile Library with the Help of Two Loyal… Donkeys?

A Spanish teacher in Columbia has been doing something amazing for the past 20 years: with the help of his two donkeys, Alfa and Beto, Luis Soriano has been delivering books to children who don’t have access to reading materials at home.  He travels all over to rural communities to ensure access to books, and he has helped thousands of students over the years! 6. The Simonverse

A trailer has been released for Becky Albertalli’s latest YA novel, Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli! This sequel to the beloved Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda follows Simon’s best friend Leah as she tackles first love, friendships, and her last year in high school. It’s on sale in just a few weeks and we can’t wait!
