The New York Times’ Modern Love column is set to become an Amazon TV show. The popular column features weekly essays that explore the highs and lows of love and relationships in their many different forms. Modern Love has been around for over 14 years, and the stories are heartbreaking, hopeful and full of emotion.
The new romantic comedy series will have eight stand-alone episodes which explore different manifestations of love. John Carney, director and writer of films like Once and Begin Again, will write, direct and, produce the new series. The New York Times will also executive produce the show.
Jennifer Salke, the new head of Amazon Studios says the project is “telling heightened kind of stories about love and romance, not necessarily all romantic.”
