1. Indigo’s Best Books of 2018

Indigo has revealed their list of the best books of the year so far, and there are some great titles on it, like Educated by Tara Westover, Trumpocracy by David Frum, The Woman in the Window by A. J. 2. Sheena Kamal Wins Kobo’s Emerging Writer Prize


Congratulations to Sheena Kamal, who won the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize in the Mystery category this week! The Lost Ones is dark and compulsive psychological thriller about the brilliant but deeply flawed Nora Watts. Kama’s second book, It All Falls Down, hits shelves next month!

3. Stranger Things Comics Coming Soon

Dark Horse Comics has announced that they are collaborating with Netflix for an adaptation of Stranger Things!  A collection of comics and YA graphic novels will debut in September of this year and will expand the world of Hawkins and its residents. 4. Kid Lit Says No Kids in Cages


A group of children’s authors have come together in the aftermath of this week’s new zero-tolerance immigration policy in the US. Kid Lit Says No Kids in Cages is rallying support and money for the immigrant families separated at the US-Mexican border. Authors like Tahereh Mafi, Victoria Aveyard, and Adam Silvera released a statement on Monday condemning the actions of the government. Donations have been pouring in, and over $157,000 had been collected. You can sign up to support Kid Lit Says No Kids in Cages and donate to the campaign.

5. The Witches Adaptation Finds a Director


The director of hit films like Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, and The Polar Express is set to direct a new film adaptation of The Witches, the classic book by Roald Dahl. Robert Zemeckis will also write the script, with Guillermo del Toro producing. Who’s excited for this!? Do you remember reading The Witches when you were younger?
