Well, it’s almost time for New Year’s, folks, and you know what that means: overpriced drinks, way too many people, and the three hour Uber waits… (Do I sound bitter?). Of course, I’m actually talking about New Year’s resolutions. While personal ones can be a little too real, we’re going to be covering something a little lighter today: reading resolutions! Here are all of the (bookish!) things we’re hoping to accomplish this year!
Put down the Netflix and read more (duh)
Seriously, the new season of Sabrina (or whatever they’re calling it) can wait… We have books to read!
Diversify my bookshelf
Read 👏 Diverse 👏 Authors 👏 End sentence.
Switch up genres every now and then
Switch things up every once in a while… You never know when you’ll find your next favourite read!
Read smarter
You only have a finite amount of reading time. If the book isn’t doing it for you, then set it aside until a later date.
Treat libraries with the respect they deserve
Seriously, libraries are basically heaven on earth. FREE. BOOKS. Use them!
Get through the books I already own…
2019 is the year I finally make a dent in my TBR pile!
…while realizing that buying books can be therapeutic
But buying books is cool too. #RetailTherapy
Enjoy my reading time
Like I said earlier, most of us don’t have a ton of time to read, so make the most of the little time you do have!
