The best part about this Friday is that it’s a Friday before a LONG WEEKEND (if you’re in Ontario, like us!). Which, in turn, means more reading time of course. But before you pick up that book, why not catch up on this week’s book news?

If you haven’t heard (where have you been?), the upcoming movie TOLKIEN follows the life of J.R.R Tolkien as her finds friendship, love, and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. It takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences is what inspires Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels. The movie releases this May and stars Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins. Watch the full trailer here!

2. EW reveals the cover for Julie Murphy’s new novel, Dear Sweet Pea

Dumplin’ author Julie Murphy has a new book coming our way this fall and it’s easily the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. Dear Sweet Pea “centers on Patricia “Sweet Pea” DiMarco, a seventh grader who, as Murphy teased on Twitter last year, ‘intercepts letters for her town’s advice column and answers them while dealing [with] her parents divorce.'” View the EW cover reveal and interview with Julie here.
