The last winner was Kazuo Ishiguro, author of Never Let Me Go and The Buried Giant, who won in 2017. Which authors will win this year? Only time will tell. According to recent reports, word on the street is that George R. R. Martin has confirmed that the final book in the series – coming annnnnny day now… (he says wistfully) – is likely going to feature “important discrepancies” from season 8.
