Well, Savvy Readers, another week is coming to a close. Is 2019 flying by for anyone else? Because it sure has been for us… We had quite the week this week, so let’s dive in!
1. Max Eisen, Ziya Tong win Canada Reads!
In the most heated and passionate debate in recent memory, Ziya Tong’s defense of Max Eisen‘s By Chance Alone came out victorious in this year’s Canada Reads! The debates were intense all week, and it came down to a shocking change of mind from Yanick Truesdale to seal the deal, but this year’s Canada Reads winner is in the books! Read more about the debates here!
2. Sarah Dessen is coming to Canada!
If you didn’t know already, Sarah Dessen has a brand new book coming out called The Rest of the Story! And if that weren’t exciting enough in its own right, she’ll be bringing the tour to Canada this time around! Making stops in Oshawa and Toronto, we can’t wait to dive into her brand new book and meet her on tour! Find out more details here!
3. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark officially has a trailer!
Warning: Not for the faint of heart! As you may know, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is getting made into a feature film by none other than horror royalty Guillermo Del Toro, and the first full-length trailer just dropped! While, yes, my childhood nostalgia gland is flaring up because I LOVED these books as a kid, I’m also genuinely terrified because oh my gosh it looks like it’s going to be horrifying… Don’t believe me? See for yourself.
I think that’s all we’ve got for bookish news this week, Savvy Readers. Did you hear about anything we missed? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @SavvyReader!
