50 Book Pledge Featured Read: The Better Sister

If you haven’t read Alafair Burke yet, Savvy Readers, then you are missing out! One of my favourite thriller writers has a new novel and I’m so excited for you to read it! To learn more about The Better Sister, read on!

Okay. Let me lay this out for you:

Chloe and Adam are married.
Adam used to be married to Nicky.
Nicky is Chloe’s sister (YEP, you read that right).
Nicky and Adam have a son, Ethan.
Ethan is Chloe’s stepson nephew… and also stepson?!

Bizarre, right?! These relationships is one of the things—aside from my love for Alafair Burke’s writing—that made me want to read this book! I mean, come on, aren’t you even the tiniest bit intrigued?!

After earning a scholarship to an Ivy League school and moving to New York City, Chloe lands a job at a high-end magazine in Manhattan. Nicky married Adam, at the time a promising young attorney, and gave birth to their baby boy, Ethan. At this time, the sisters, Chloe and Nicky, are essentially strangers.

But 15 years have passed and the sister’s lives couldn’t be more different. Including the fact that Chloe is now married to Adam, now a successful lawyer. But when Adam is murdered by an intruder at the couple’s East Hampton beach house, Chloe reluctantly allows her estranged sister back into her life. But with Ethan treated as the prime suspect in his father’s death, the two sisters are forced to unite and to confront the truth behind all of the family secrets that they have tried to bury in the past.

You’ll be hooked right away in this one, Savvy Readers! The short chapters (another thing I love) and all of the secrets and lies will keep you flipping the pages to uncover the truth. So, which sister is really the Better Sister? You’ll just have to read it and find out for yourself…
