Savvy Readers, we are already midway through September! How crazy is that?! Time flies so fast! With that said, we made it to the weekend, and we’ve got some amazing bookmarks in store for you.

  1. Canadian Non-Fiction of the Year


The Writers’ Trust of Canada is hosting the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for non-fiction. They are down to 5 finalists for this year and the winner is to be announced on November 5.   1. Canadian Jewish Literary Awards


On September 16th, the Canadian Jewish Literary Awards honored 8 amazing books for 2019. The ceremony will be held on October 27th in the Tribute Communities Recital Hall. Congratulations to all the 8 winners, very well deserved! If you would like to attend the ceremony, you can register here .

  1. Michael B. Jordan picks up Rena Barron’s Kingdom of Souls Trilogy


Michael B. Jordan has just announced that Warner Bros-based Outlier Society has chosen Kingdom of Souls to be produced into a big-screen adaptation! They will be producing it with Pouya Shahbazian and the screenplay will be written by Misan Sagay. There’s no word whether Michael B. Jordan will be playing a part in it, but one can only hope.
