Welcome to your Thanksgiving long weekend, Savvy Readers! We’ve know you probably have some amazing plans for the weekend (or you don’t… we don’t judge), so let’s get right into it!
1. 2019 National Book Awards Finalists Announced
The finalists have been announced for the 2019 National Book Awards! There are five categories: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, translated literature, and young people’s literature. Of note are two truly incredible books that we absolutely loved: Solitary by Albert Woodfox and Thirteen Doorways, Wolves Behind Them All by Laura Ruby. 2. #HarperPresents: A Special Screening of P.S. I Love You
For all my Torontonian Savvy Readers, there will be a screen of P.S. I Love You at the Revue Cinema in celebration and launch of Cecelia Ahern’s long-awaited sequel Postscript! The event will be held on October 16th at 7PM. There will be swag bags with a romantic comedy samplers and other goodies inside! You can get your tickets here.
3. Disney Channel Optioned the Rights to Dear Sweet Pea
The Disney Channel has announced that they have optioned the rights to Dear Sweet Pea by Julie Murphy. The project is in its development slate for the Disney Channel Original Movie! 4. A new novel from Kiera Cass is coming!
We don’t know if you heard already or not, but a new romance duology from Kiera Cass, the beloved author of The Selection series, is on its way to bless our bookshelves! Called The Betrothed, the first book in the duology is set to come out in the spring of 2020 and centres on the daughter of nobility who has captured the heart of a king. And guess what?
