As we all know, this is absolutely an incomplete list. Which means we have a challenge for you, Savvy Readers. Whether its in the comments below or on Facebook or Twitter @SavvyReader, we want YOU to continue adding to the list! Reach out to us with the one book that you absolutely think everyone should read at least once in their lifetime to keep the conversation (and recommendations!) going!
Happy reading,

The Book of Negroes is such a powerful read.
When the Moon is Low by Nadia Hashmini
A beautifully written book…and a great read.
I found ” The things they carried with them” at a dump salvage bin almost 10 years ago.
I share it with whomever I can and tell them to read so maybe we wont make “those mistakes”.
Is that the Tim O’Brien book?
I read that book a couple of years ago in stages . It was so tough and real and the horrible truth about what really happens in war. It was incredibly heart breaking but beautifully written. I too share it with as many people as I can .
PICKING COTTON: OUR MEMOIR OF INJUSTICE AND REDEMPTION- this book stayed with me long after
reading it
The Diviners by Margaret Lawrence
Cat’s Eye and The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood
Sofia and Cecilia by Karen Ashberg
Sweetness in the Belly by Camila Gibb
oh, so many more!
The Story of Beautiful Girl
