1. Ian Williams was named the winner of the 2019 Scotiabank Giller Prize.

Now celebrating its 26th year, the Scotiabank Giller Prize highlights Canadian fiction and is awarded to the author of the best Canadian novel or short story collection published in English. Williams won for his novel Reproduction, narrowly beating five other finalists, including David Bezmozgis, the celebrated author of Immigrant City who was previously shortlisted for the Giller Prize in 2011 and 2015. 2. Candace Bushnell and Katie Cotugno (of Sex and the City and The Carrie Diaries) revealed the cover of their forthcoming YA novel.

Rules for Being a Girl hits shelves April 7th and presents readers with a smart, and unapologetically feminist novel. Following Marin, a star student and the editor of the school newspaper who dreams of getting into Brown University as she fights to expose sexism at her school after a run-in with a predatory teacher. 3. HarperPresents holiday cookie decorating in Toronto’s historic Distillery District with Karen Schaler, the writer behind Netflix’s A Christmas Prince and author of Finding Christmas
