1. The Forest of Reading Evergreen Award Nominees have been announced
Today it was announced that Crow Winter by Karen McBride was nominated for the Forest of Reading Evergreen Award, which is comprised of Canadian fiction and non-fiction titles. Are there any books you’re hoping to make the cut?
2. New Netflix show featuring Dennis Prescott premiering on February 28
Dennis Prescott, author of Eat Delicious, is co-hosting a new show called Restaurants on the Edge, where the hosts will be helping realize the potential of struggling eateries. All of the restaurants in this 13-episode series are set in beautiful locales, including cottage country of Muskoka, Ontario!
3. Hillary Mantel in Toronto in March
Hillary Mantel will be in Toronto on March 22 for an event at The Toronto Public Library’s Appel Salon. The event will host 500 attendees with potential for additional attendance in the atrium to accommodate overflow. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday for $22.60.
4. Jessica Simpson opens up about her childhood sexual abuse
With the upcoming publication of her memoir, Open Book, Jessica Simpson reveals for the first time that childhood sexual abuse which led to her substance abuse. We also found out that she’s releasing six new songs which tell her story. Check out the full article.
