If you don’t know Angie Thomas by now, you should! The YA author rose to fame with the 2017 release of her first novel The Hate U Give which became an instant bestseller and has since been adapted for the big screen. Now, with Thomas’ new novel Concrete Rose (January 2021) the author is taking fans back to the same neighbourhood where it all began, Garden Heights with a prequel centering around Maverick Carter, Starr’s father! Does art imitate life, or does life imitate art? None of us can say for sure, but Emma’s new book (inspired by the centenary of the Great Flu no less!) hits shelves this July. Set over three days in 1918 Dublin, The Pull of the Stars centers around a maternity ward where a nurse, doctor, and volunteer risk their lives. Learn more about Emma’s new novel here.

3. The 2020 champion of HCC March Madness was announced!
