Announcing the 2020 Savvy Reader (Quarantine) Readathon!

Get excited, Savvy Readers… You asked, we delivered! Since we are spending a whole lot more time at home and the news is pretty much always awful, we thought it would be helpful to do organize a social distancing readathon for the Savvy Reader community!

We’ll be sharing a lot more information about the readathon on Friday, May 1st, but here’s everything you need to know for now:

When is it taking place?

The readathon will begin on Monday, May 4th and end with a VERY special announcement on Sunday, May 10th. Scheduled content will be posted at 8:00 am, 5:00 pm, and random times throughout the day, but, because this is a week-long event, it can be engaged with at any point throughout the week! We realize that everyone’s schedule is a bit up in the air right now and everything’s confusing, so, unlike previous years, we will be spreading our readathon out across an entire week, rather than focusing on a few hours for one day.

What is the Savvy Readathon?

It is exactly what it sounds like: we read books! Starting on Monday, May 4th, we will post a prompt for the day at 8:00 am sharp on both Facebook and Twitter. Throughout the day, we will be encouraging you to read and chat with fellow Savvy Readers and readathon participants. And, finally, at 5:00 pm sharp each day, on both Facebook and Twitter, there will be an end-of-day question to get us talking and socializing a little bit! There will also be a major giveaway at the end of the readathon and a very, VERY big announcement at the end of the readathon on Sunday, May 10th, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

How do I take part?

Now THIS is the most important part, so listen closely. To participate, all you need to do is (1) sign-up at the form below; and (2) be a member of My Book Pledge. Easy enough, right?

If you don’t sign up, you can still take part and answer all of the questions, but unfortunately you won’t be able to enter your name in the grand prize giveaway!

As I mentioned, there will be a lot more information coming your way throughout the week, including official rules and a schedule of events, but I think I’ve covered all the important information for now!

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments or let us know on Facebook or Twitter!

Happy reading,

Jesse
