The weekend is almost here, Savvy Readers, and… it looks like winter’s back? How rude of nature. If you’re planning on staying cooped up under a warm blanket with a good book for the entire weekend like we are, I think we’ll be able to weather it. Here’s some news you might’ve missed this week!

1. The Lonely Hearts Hotel TV Series is In Production!

Good news, Savvy Readers! One of our absolute favourite books of the last few years – The Lonely Hearts Hotel by the brilliant Heather O’Neill – is coming to TV, and, just by this tweet from the writer, it looks like the early stages of the adaptation are well underway!

2. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark has a trailer!

In more fantastic book-to-TV news, HBO dropped the first teaser trailer for their new docu-series on I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, based on the groundbreaking true-crime novel of the same name by Michelle McNamara! The series will document Michelle’s long investigation into uncovering the identity of the infamous Golden State Killer. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark is one of my all-time favourite true crime books, so I can’t wait to watch it.

3. And MORE book-to-TV news!

Are we spoiled or what? As if the previous two adaptations weren’t already enough, AMC blessed us with the terrifying trailer for the second season of N0S4A2! Set to premiere on June 21st, we’re already waiting to be terrified all over again!

4. Make sure to enter our Savvy Readathon giveaway!

We’ve been hosting a readathon all week on Twitter and Facebook, and we’re giving away a prize pack featuring 5 of our favourite Featured Reads of the year!
