After we shared our favourite books of 2020 (so far…), we received an overwhelming response from the Savvy Reader community and knew right away that we had to turn it into our next community post! So, without further ado, here are our favourite books of 2020 (so far), as chosen by YOU, the Savvy Reader community!
Ashley: Where the Crawdads Sing
Shelly: The Henna Artist! It’s my book of the year!
Jasmine: For me, there’s too many that I enjoyed.
Barb: It’s a tie – Where the Crawdads Sing and Truths I Never Told You.
Joanne: For me, it’s The Henna Artist
Kelly: Alone in the Wild: A Rockton Thriller (City of Lost 5) by Kelley Armstrong. But there are quite a few that are up there with it.
Angela: I’ve been really slacking on my reading this year, but of the ones I have read I’d say either Well Met by Jen DeLuca or The Simple Wild by KA Tucker
Kristen: The Winemaker’s Wife
Margaret: The Dutch House by Ann Patchett!
Krista: Where the Crawdads Sing is my favourite so far
Nikki: Yikes I have a few! But Alone in the Wild, The Nanny, and The Guest List
Jenn: Behind Every Lie and Woman on the Edge
Mary: Take a Hint, Dani Brown; Evvie Drake Starts Over; The Flatshare; Authenticity Project; Normal People; Get a Life, Chloe Brown… yeah, there’s been more than one.
Vanessa: So far, it’s a tie between The Guest List and The Wife Stalker
Janet: A toss up between If You Want to Make God Laugh by Bianca Marais and We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter
Lorna: Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid
Becky: Crescent City
Roxanne: The Henna Artist
Karalee: Non-fiction is Your Future Self Will Thank You, fiction is The Nanny
Brenda: Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
Beth: The Dutch House, Dear Edward
Sherryn: The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel
Kim: The Authenticity Project and Eight Perfect Murders
Chris: Read so many wonderful books already this year. One of my 2020 favourites is The Henna Artist.
Dana: Older book but The Help. I’m having a really hard time with all the newer titles that are being hyped. Just not getting me from the get go.
Tiffany: My Dark Vanessa and The Guest List were both fabulous
Lisa: Daughter of the Reich! I read it in one night. I’m currently reading Love Thy Neighbor, which is also quite amazing.
Suzanne: Sucker Punch by Laurel K. Hamilton or On Ocean Boulevard by Mary Alice Monroe
Ashley: Dear Edward, Flatshare, and The Vanishing Half in no particular order
Rebecca: Stephanie Meyer’s Midnight Sun. I did my waiting. 12 years of it. For this book.
Carolynn: If Only by Kate Eberlen (beautiful follow up to Miss You!) and Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim (I have Unravel the Dusk on my night stand!)
Meghan: I did my yearly re-read of Hyperbole and a Half. Always going to be on of the favourites.
Linda: I am reading Jan Karon’s Father Tim set in the Mitford series and am really enjoying the storylines
Shelly: So far it is Long Bright River. It is beautifully written.
Katie: Wonderful, Messy Us by Catherine Isaac
Kirsty: The World That We Knew by Alice Hoffman
@MsKennedy92: Currently reading American Dirt – so far my favourite!
Rose: You Can’t Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie
Laura: The Henna Artist
