Happy Friday Savvy Readers! Are you as excited about Halloween as I am? I’m spending this weekend diving into some thrillers and carving pumpkins but first, here’s your weekly rundown of everything that happened this week!
1. The Goodreads Choice Awards are back!
The choice is yours! The opening round for the 2020 Goodreads Choice Awards just opened. Cast your vote before November 8th to help choose which books will move on to the semi-finals! Some of our favourites nominated this year include The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel, The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi, and My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell!
2. The official trailer for Universal Pictures’ film adaptation of News of the World just dropped!
Based on Paulette Jiles‘ award-winning historical western, the story follows Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd as he travels through northern Texas in the 1870s, giving live readings to paying audiences hungry for news of the world. Tom Hanks will star as Captain Kidd and the film will be directed by Paul Greengrass.
