1. Quentin Tarantino signs a two-book deal with HarperCollins! 

Award-winning director Quentin Tarantino has signed a two-book deal with HarperCollins that will begin with the novelization of his acclaimed film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. 2. The bestselling and award-winning memoir HillBilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance has been adapted into a Netflix original film. 

J.D. Vance’s highly praised novel HillBilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis has come to screen in a Netflix original film released November 24th. Director Ron Howard brings together a stellar cast starring Amy Adams, Glenn Close and Frieda Pinto. This deeply moving tale of family and loss of the American dream is set against a score by Hans Zimmer. Watch the trailer here.

3. Unseen J.R.R. Tolkien essays on Middle Earth coming out in 2021! 

Previously unpublished writings by J.R.R Tolkien are coming to bookshelves in summer 2021. The Nature of Middle Earth are Tolkien’s final collection covering a variety of topics including his journey to better understand his creation. 4. The GoodReads Choice Awards final round is ending this week.

5. Thomas King was named Companion of the Order of Canada!

Recognized for his enduring contributions to the preservation and recognition of Indigenous culture, King is also the recipient of the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction and the RBC Taylor Prize. He’s among 114 new appointments to the Order of Canada of which Companion is the highest level of the Order! Read more about this story here.

6. Andrew Taylor was awarded the 2020 Historical Writers’ Association 2020 Gold Crown Award!
