Another literary week has come and gone, Savvy Readers, and we are getting ready to dive into a warm blanket and a great book for the weekend. But before we get there, let’s catch up on everything you might’ve missed this week, shall we?

1. The cover of Linwood Barclay’s new book was just reveal and it’s phenomenal!

Master of suspense Linwood Barclay is back with his next novel, Find You First, in May, and HarperCollins Canada just gave us a sneak peek at the seriously suspenseful cover earlier this week! A riveting thriller in which the possible heirs of a dying tech millionaire are mysteriously being eliminated, one by one, Find You First is sure to be everywhere come May, so you will not want to miss it. Learn more about the announcement here!

2. Colin the HCC Elf is back with 12 days of giveaways!

Everyone’s favourite elf is back to spread Christmas cheer when we need it most, and he’s armed with 12 extra festive giveaways! So far, he’s already revealed a giveaway of some of Indigo’s best books of the year, a historical fiction prize pack, and a stack of our very own My Book Pledge Featured Reads! Colin will be revealing a new giveaway each day until the 13th, so be sure to check hccelf.ca every day to see how you can enter to win. Oh, and don’t forget: you can enter to win the grand prize giveaway, which includes ALL 12 PRIZES! Learn more here.

3. One of our favourite memoirs of the year just got optioned for TV!

Natasha Trethewey‘s hauntingly beautiful memoir Memorial Drive was just optioned by Sony Pictures Television to become a new drama series! Memorial Drive is a chillingly personal and exquisitely wrought memoir of a daughter reckoning with the brutal murder of her mother at the hands of her former stepfather, and the moving, intimate story of a poet coming into her own in the wake of a tragedy.

There you have it, Savvy Readers – you’re all caught up on the week! Now go enjoy your blanket forts and good books. See you on Monday!

Happy reading,

Jesse
